Atmosphere

I can’t say enough about the atmosphere of Literatus & Co. It’s a multifunctional space, serving as a coffee shop, a dining spot, and a two-story bookstore! Tables are among the books, creating a library-like ambiance. I love sitting on the second floor, overlooking the bustling activity below. Or I’ll take a window seat and enjoy views of downtown Watertown. Sometimes I drop by to take a break from my workday, and other times I bring my work along. Regardless, spending time at Literatus always feels like a treat.

Food (and Café drinks)

When it comes to coffee drinks, Literatus is one of my favorite spots. While I usually go for lattes, their menu offers a variety of options including drip coffee, lemonade, Italian soda, matcha, and tea. On my recent visit, I looked over the May specials and opted for a sugar-free Snickerdoodle latte infused with flavors of white chocolate and brown sugar cinnamon. It exceeded my expectations! Although I’m a regular coffee enthusiast, I had never ventured into their food menu. Feeling hungry, I decided to explore it that day. I hoped to satisfy my salty-sweet cravings with their Fig & Pig Quiche, featuring bacon and figs. My dining companion chose a classic grilled cheese with tomato soup on the side – a timeless choice!

The quiche was truly exceptional, with a firm texture, crispy crust, and abundant flavor. Each bite was a satisfying combination of bacon and fig. The portion size was just right – I wasn’t uncomfortably full or hungry. With a long afternoon ahead, it was the perfect balance. This quiche will definitely be on my list to have again soon.

My friend thoroughly enjoyed her comfort food. The grilled cheese was like something out of an ad. See for yourself.

Another colleague happened to be enjoying lunch at Literatus, and I had to capture her beautiful sandwich in a pic as well. A delectable ham and swiss with a pickle and chips on the side. I’m glad I decided on the quiche before I saw their meals, because I may have strayed from my original choice after seeing those beauties.
