Interurban Trail
The Watertown/Oconomowoc Interurban Trail is a nonmotorized recreational trail, transforming the former electrical rail line into a bike and pedestrian path. The newly completed project brings 7-miles of paved trails for non-motorized travelers. Hike it, bike it, skate it! Enjoy marshy areas, tree lined spots, and a great view of the Rock River. The trailhead can be found on Clark Street in Watertown and includes a restroom facility, parking stalls, a water bottle filling station, bike racks, wayfinding signage, and a bike repair station. Farmers Markets
Watertown is home to two summer markets. The Watertown Farmers Market is among the oldest markets in continual operation in Wisconsin. The market is open on Tuesdays, 7am-Noon, May through October. Held in beautiful Riverside Park, the market is home to more than three dozen quality vendors selling fresh produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, canned and fermented produce, specialty crafts, flowers – annuals, perennials and freshly cut – and so much more! The Garden Tales Farmers Market market runs every Thursday from 3-6pm, August through October. The market starts at the peak of the season, with lots of fresh produce, cut flowers, baked goods, and more. The market can be visited at the Bentzin Family Town Square. 100 S. Water St.
The Rock River
The Rock River winds throughout the city, adding beauty and recreation. The river provides excellent fishing opportunities, with piers located at Riverside Park, Fannie P. Lewis Park, and at Heron Landing on Oconomowoc Ave. Fishing is also popular there are many fishing opportunities along the banks of the river.
Take a tour of the river on a kayak or paddle board. The serene sounds and sights won’t disappoint. Want a little more excitement? Dock your kayak at the Bentzin Family Town Square, where you’ll be in the heart of the city with shopping and dining within steps. Kayak and paddle board rentals are available through the Watertown Parks & Recreation Dept.
Rock River Disc Golf
Watertown’s 21-hole disc golf course is free to the public, and open year-round. The course winds through Brandt-Quirk park, and is moderately hilly and lightly wooded. The course is home to several tournaments including the Midwest Masters Age Protected PDGA B Tier. The park is accessible from Endeavour Drive and Carriage Hill Drive.
Brandt-Quirk Park
This beautiful gem is full of amenities that serve the Watertown community and surrounding areas. The park offers nearly four miles of beautiful trails to hike and cross-country ski. A Storybook Trail is tucked within the woods, and certain sections are open to pet exercise. The park is also home to soccer fields, lighted tennis courts, play equipment, a FREE 21-hole Disc Golf course, picnic shelters, restrooms, batting cages, and a baseball/softball center with lighted diamonds. The Baseball Center is bustling with games, including national tournaments. In total, the park boasts 169 acres. The park is located at 800 Carriage Hill Drive.
